Profit Rises 6% on 5.8% Revenue Gain at Coca-Cola

Coca-Cola Co., which last week bowed to consumer pressure and announced that it is bringing back its old formula Coke, said its second-quarter profit rose 6% on a 5.8% gain in revenue over a year ago.
The company said its net income for the quarter ended June 30 totaled $196 million, compared to $185 million in the same period last year.
Revenue rose to $2.04 billion from $1.93 billion a year earlier.
For the first six months of the year, net income rose 4.4% to $337 million from $323 million. Half-year revenue rose 8.2% to $3.79 billion from $3.51 billion.
