BYU Is Picked to Win the WAC

EL PASO, Tex. — Defending national champion Brigham Young University was the media’s unanimous choice Wednesday to repeat as Western Athletic Conference football titlist this fall.
Eight of the conference’s nine head coaches attending the WAC Football Media Days here, also picked BYU as the team to beat, with one head coach abstaining.
Air Force finished a distant second in the media poll, with Hawaii third, Wyoming fourth, San Diego State fifth, followed by Utah, New Mexico, Colorado State and Texas-El Paso.
