Donald Sheldon Group was placed in receivership.

The action was taken against the Wall Street firm that dealt in government bonds and mortgage-backed securities after the Securities and Exchange Commission accused it of risking customers’ assets in its own trades. The SEC went to court one day after the company voluntarily shut its retail operations. According to court papers, the firm had been unwinding the government securities positions in its own accounts since earlier this month.
