Seven teams of federal and state drug agents backed by helicopters began a series of raids against marijuana growers, concentrating on Humboldt, Mendocino and Trinity counties, where about three-fourths of California’s illicit crop was seized last year. The raids were part of the nationwide Campaign Against Marijuana Planting effort.
