Man Killed, 1 Hurt in Crash on Freeway

A24-year-old North Hollywood man died Saturday morning when the car he was driving struck a vehicle stalled in a southbound lane of the Hollywood Freeway south of Magnolia Boulevard in North Hollywood, authorities said.
Brian Lawrence Mohammed was traveling about 60 m.p.h. at 7:50 a.m. when his car hit a vehicle driven by Roman Krasner, whose age and hometown were not available, authorities said.
Krasner was listed in stable condition with bruises and cuts Saturday at St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, a hospital spokeswoman said. Mohammed was dead from internal injuries on arrival at the Medical Center of North Hollywood.
One of the cars burst into flames after the collision, California Highway Patrol Officer Mike Kerr said.
