A Silicon Valley businessman was fined $40,000 for his involvement in illegally diverting a $196,000 computer and parts to Czechoslovakia. Richard Wolf, an associate of the defunct Fierro Enterprises, also received a five year suspended prison sentence from U.S. District Judge Robert Aguilar. Wolf pleaded guilty to conspiring to violate U.S. export laws by illegally shipping a Digital Equipment Corp. computer and components from Haiti to Czechoslovakia in February, 1981.
