Pity poor Hannah Sampson (Viewers’ Views, July 21). All she wanted to make her Fourth of July complete was to put her feet up, and her intellect on hold, and be soothed by uncomplicated musical Americana. Instead, she was forced to grapple with Leonard Bernstein’s homage to America and American poets. If it’s an easy-listening Fourth she wants, I suggest she try the Boston Pops in 1986.
