Pentagon Task Force to Review Midgetman

WASHINGTON — The Pentagon said Tuesday it has formed a nine-member task force, headed by John M. Deutch of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, to review the Midgetman missile program.
Deutch was on the President’s Commission on Strategic Forces, which originally recommended the small, mobile Midgetman in 1983. The Pentagon said the new group will meet Sept. 20, with a final report to be submitted in early 1986.
