Suspect Held in Rape Try: A 20-year-old Yorba Linda man has been arrested on charges of attempted rape in connection with an assault on a 16-year-old Brea girl Wednesday, police said. Ashley Todd IV was arrested around 4:15 p.m. Thursday in Brea on charges of attempted rape and forced oral copulation, Brea Police Detective Doug Dickerson said. The man, who was acquainted with the alleged victim, offered the girl a ride home from work in Brea, Dickerson said. Investigators allege that the girl was taken to a remote field in north Yorba Linda, where the rape attempt occurred. After struggling with her attacker, the girl was able to escape, suffering only minor bruises. Todd was being held in Orange County Jail on $50,000 bail. Arraignment is set for Monday.
