Night Stalker suspect Richard Ramirez was charged today with 13 new counts of murder and 47 other felonies, including rape, robbery and lewd conduct with a child, stemming from 18 attacks in Los Angeles County beginning in June, 1984.
The new charges bring to 15 the number of killings of which the 25-year-old drifter from El Paso, Tex., has been formally accused. At a morning press conference, Dist. Atty. Ira Reiner told reporters: “Our assessment of the evidence is complete. This is the case as we expect it will proceed to preliminary hearing and later to trial.”
