New Homes Sales Down 2.6%

WASHINGTON — Sales of new homes fell 2.6% in September, the second consecutive month that sales have dropped, the government reported today.
Sales of new single-family homes fell to an annual rate of 681,000 units last month following a 5.4% sales decline in August, according to the joint report by the departments of Commerce and Housing and Urban Development.
