Elderly Woman Raped and Slain on Street

An elderly Lincoln Heights woman was raped and murdered on the street a few blocks from her home, police said Sunday.
A passer-by found the victim, whose name and age were withheld pending notification of her relatives. She was found lying on a wheelchair ramp leading to a doctor’s office in the 2900 block of North Broadway. She had been bludgeoned, investigators said, and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Friends told investigating officers she usually took a morning stroll in the neighborhood.
No suspects were in custody.
