Fullerton : Cal State to Screen Journalists for NASA

Cal State Fullerton is one of five universities in the United States picked as coordinators in the national search for an American journalist to travel aboard a space shuttle mission next year.

The university’s Communications Department was chosen the western coordinating representative to interview journalists who apply, said Edgar P. Trotter, department chairman.

The coordinating sites were picked by the Assn. of Schools of Journalism and Mass Communications.

The other four clearing sites are journalism schools at Pennsylvania State University; the University of North Carolina; the University of Iowa, and the University of Kansas.

As the western site, Cal State Fullerton will interview applicants from California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Hawaii and Alaska.
