Servite Holds Onto No. 1 Spot in Prep Poll

Servite High School, coming off its closest game of the season, remained the top-ranked team in the Orange County Sportswriters’ Assn. prep football poll.
The Friars improved their record to 8-0 with a 35-33 win over St. Paul. Servite rallied for three touchdowns in the final quarter to win.
The Friars figure to get another big test Friday when they travel to La Puente to meet Bishop Amat (8-0) for the Angelus League title. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30.
In the only significant changes in this week’s poll, Mission Viejo slipped from second to third following a 29-29 tie with rival Capistrano Valley, and Los Alamitos dropped out of the poll following a 20-0 loss to sixth-ranked Pacifica.
