San Diego State Women Sweep UC Irvine

After four consecutive Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. matches against Top 10 teams, the San Diego State women’s volleyball squad met an unranked conference opponent Saturday and won easily in three sets.
The Aztecs, who lost three of four matches against Hawaii, Pacific and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, beat UC Irvine, 15-6, 18-16, 15-5, on the Anteaters’ court.
The victory improved SDSU’s record to 5-7 in conference play and 22-15 overall. The Aztecs are ranked 17th in the Tachikara-Coaches’ Poll. Irvine fell to 0-13 and 5-15.
