Court Traffic Enforcement Stuck in the Slow Lane

SACRAMENTO — No more warrants will be issued for people with unpaid traffic tickets until the Sacramento Municipal Court gets out from under a backlog of 25,000 pieces of unopened mail, court administrator Dennis Jones said Saturday.
The decision followed citizen complaints that their checks for parking fines had not been cashed for up to six weeks after being mailed to the court.
Meanwhile, the parking offenders were getting notices accusing them of failing to pay.
