Santa Monica : Trustees Name New Chairman

The Santa Monica College Board of Trustees voted 6 to 0 Monday to name James Bambrick as its new chairman, replacing Fred Beteta whose one-year term expired. The trustees also voted to appoint Carole Currey vice chairman. Trustee Anne Peters was absent.
Trustees Beteta and Colin Petrie were also appointed to serve on a committee to work with the City Council.
Bambrick, 46, has served two terms on the board since his election in 1979. He served as chairman in 1981. Bambrick is a graduate of UCLA and holds a master’s degree and a doctorate in law from Loyola University.
