DOMINGO TO PLAY COVENT GARDEN

LONDON — Spanish-born tenor Placido Domingo, who canceled all engagements for a year to raise funds for Mexican earthquake victims, has agreed to appear at London’s Covent Garden in January, the Royal Opera House said this week.
Domingo, who was to have taken the lead in the Royal Opera’s production of Verdi’s “Otello,” will appear in “Simon Boccanegra.”
