A 37-year-old Tarzana man was in critical condition Friday night after he fell out of a tree he was trimming near his home, authorities said.
The man, Mladen Grzepiz, fell about 20 feet near Nestle Avenue Elementary School in Tarzana about 4:15 p.m., Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Greg Acevedo said.
Grzepiz was in Northridge Hospital Medical Center in critical condition with a fractured skull and a possibly broken back, a hospital spokeswoman said.
She said Grzepiz is a professional tree trimmer.
