A Western Airlines clerk was stabbed to death Friday as she arrived for work at the firm’s corporate headquarters at Los Angeles International Airport, police said.
The body of Torrance resident Marie Foster, the 29-year-old mother of two, was discovered at about 8:30 a.m. beside her car, which was parked on the seventh floor of a structure used by Western employees.
“It appeared the assailant waited for her, and when she parked her car, he accosted her with a knife, stabbing her to death,” said Los Angeles Police Lt. Tim McBride, a Pacific Division robbery-homicide detective.
The motive for the murder is unknown, McBride said, but he said investigators are seeking the victim’s estranged husband, John Foster, 41, for questioning.
