San Diego State to Gain 6-9 Saddleback Center

SAN DIEGO — Connie Waikle, a 6-foot 9-inch center for Saddleback Community College, has announced she will attend San Diego State next fall.
Waikle was an All-Southern Section player at Villa Park High School. She suffered torn ankle ligaments in the 1983-84 season, her freshman year at the University of Hawaii, but she played in 20 games and averaged 3.1 points and 4.4 rebounds.
Because she transferred to Cal State Long Beach last year, Waikle had to sit out last season. However, this season she decided to transfer to Saddleback.
