Haney Quits Loyola

Sophomore guard Steve Haney of the Loyola Marymount basketball team quit school Friday and returned to his home in Lansing, Mich., Coach Paul Westhead said. No reason was given.
Haney, 6-2, started the last 15 games last season as a freshman, averaging 13.1 points per game.
Loyola will open its season at 7:30 tonight against Azusa Pacific at Albert Gersten Pavilion.
