Alemany Easily Picked Apart by Edison, 22-7

Bill Workman, Edison High School football coach, watched his team coast Friday night to a 22-7 victory in its first-round game against Alemany in the Southern Section Big Five Conference playoffs in Huntington Beach.
The Chargers had a 22-point lead heading into the fourth period, so Workman rested his star tailback, Kaleaph Carter. By that time, however, the sophomore had done his share of damage.
The 6-foot, 200-pound tailback rushed for 82 yards and scored two touchdowns to lead Edison in front of 3,500 fans.
Alemany averted the shutout when quarterback Sean Casey scored from one yard out in the fourth period, but the Indians never mounted a serious threat in the second half.
That was because Carter carried the ball 10 times for 47 yards during an Edison drive that ended with his one-yard touchdown run and consumed nearly 7 minutes of the third period.
