A 25-year-old Marine has won a five-month fight to be discharged from the Marine Corps on grounds that he is a homosexual. Sgt. Rolf T. Lindblom, a computer programming instructor at the Marine Corps Reserve Training Center in Chavez Ravine, had petitioned the Corps for a discharge last summer but was informed the Corps would not consider the petition until he provided proof of homosexual conduct. Lindblom had refused, saying he feared that such information could be used to court-martial him. A Marine Corps spokesman said Lindblom filed a second request that “met all requirements for an honorable discharge” and it was granted.
