FELLOWSHIPS FOR SCREENWRITERS

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the founding of the Don and Gee Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting, an annual program that will award $20,000 for up to five new screenwriters.
Applications for the first year’s fellowships are now open to graduating seniors and full-time graduate students of California colleges and universities. Entries will be accepted until July 1. Winners will be announced Oct. 1.
Recipients of the fellowship will be expected to complete a feature-length screenplay by the end of the fellowship year. Information: (213) 278-8990.
