Arrest warrants have been issued for a man and his common-law wife who allegedly profited almost $5,000 by marketing her unborn child for adoption to three California couples, the Los Angeles city attorney’s office announced. Ronald Bruce McElroy, 30, and Sue Ellen Mitchell, 27, who is believed to to be about eight months pregnant, are accused of three misdemeanor counts of grand theft and two of failing to follow through with an adoption after accepting money for medical and incidental living expenses.
