Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. reported a $47-million net loss in its 1985 fourth quarter. The Akron, Ohio-based firm blamed the poor fourth quarter partly on costs associated with the $105-million restructuring of its North American tire operations. The restructuring, which cost $57 million after taxes, included the closing of its Albany, Ga. tire plant, related employee termination costs and the writing down of assets in other North American tire plants.
