Schools Chief Elected: Kenneth Slimmer has been elected president of the Garden Grove Unified School District Board of Education. Slimmer, an attorney, has been a board member since 1975. He is a former city planning commissioner and Region 15 director of the California School Boards Assn. Joyce Johnson, a retired district teacher, was elected vice president of the board.
