CAMARILLO — The City Council has approved zone changes that will allow a 93-acre industrial and business park to be built in the southern end of the city by Tom Leonard of Camarillo, a landowner and developer.
He plans to establish commercial and industrial zoning on an agriculture site south of the Ventura Freeway between Las Posas Road and Hughes Drive. About 15.6 acres are earmarked for commercial projects, 24.5 acres for offices, and 51.3 acres for light-manufacturing plants.
The land will be subdivided into 24 lots, ranging in size from 1.4 to 17.2 acres. The largest parcel will accommodate a 150-room, four-story hotel with banquet and convention facilities, according to Leonard.
