The body of a 21-year-old Marine private stationed at Camp Pendleton was found in the surf along camp beachfront north of Oceanside, authorities said Sunday.
Pvt. David L. Lindell of Everson, Wash., died by drowning, said a spokesman for the county coroner’s office.
A marine guard unit found Lindell’s body about 10 p.m. Friday, about one day after he was reported missing from his place of duty, said Sgt. Art Alejandre, a camp spokesman.
