Burlington Industries said that improved textile sales boosted its net earnings for the first quarter of fiscal 1986 to $8.4 million from $4.6 million the previous year. “Our quarterly results reflect better market conditions for a number of our businesses,” William A. Klopman, Burlington’s chairman and chief executive, said in a statement. All of Burlington’s business is textile-related.
