Fullerton College has launched its new semiannual “Staff of Distinction” awards with a presentation to its 25-year-veteran athletic director, Hal Sherbeck, and to four other employees of the community college.
College President Philip W. Borst, who made the awards, said they will be presented every spring and every fall semester to distinguished staff members. Each person honored will receive a $250 cash award from the Fullerton College Foundation and an engraved certificate and will have his or her name placed on a permanent plaque in the college’s Administration Building.
The initial awards were made earlier this month by Borst at a campus meeting.
In addition to Sherbeck, the award winners are Shirley Bosen, associate dean of learning resources; David A. Ibsen, a social sciences teacher; Jack H. Kirschenbaum, a social sciences teacher, and Joy A. Wanden, a library assistant.
