Plans are being made to build the first permanent performing arts center on the campus of Whittier College on Painter Avenue between Philadelphia Street and Olive Drive.
Expected to cost about $7 million, the 40,000-square-foot center will serve the needs of both the drama and music departments of the college. It is in the schematic design phase at Albert C. Martin & Associates, and construction is earmarked for 1987 along with the college’s centennial celebration.
