I am a former candidate for San Diego City Council (runner-up to Ulvaldo Martinez in the citywide election), a member of the Board of Trustees for the California State University system and a local practicing attorney. For many years I have been actively interested in our San Diego legal and political systems. I fully support Floyd Morrow for mayor of San Diego.
I have known Floyd Morrow for many years and have always found him to be honest and accessible. As a member of the San Diego City Council for 12 years, Mr. Morrow demonstrated these same qualities to citizens from all walks of life. He has shown his belief that political office is a public trust, and he is responsible to the citizens of San Diego.
As an advocate for open space, Floyd helped establish many city parks and was the prime mover for maintaining Tecolote Canyon as open space. In 1984, he was honored for his efforts in establishing Mission Bay Park, an area that has brought San Diego worldwide recognition.
In 1976, before it became a popular political cause, Floyd opposed SDG&E; rate structures. He has continued his fight for ratepayer protection to this day. Since utility rates have the greatest effect on the poor and elderly, Floyd’s concern clearly indicates that people, not power, are his prime motivation.
Floyd Morrow has the talent, character and vision to restore San Diego’s reputation to once again be America’s Finest City. I firmly recommend his election as mayor of San Diego.
