S. Yemen Party Leaders Meet With Soviet Aide

MOSCOW — Soviet Communist Party Politburo member Yegor K. Ligachev, one of the top men in the Kremlin leadership, conferred Monday with officials of the ruling Socialist Party of South Yemen, the official Soviet news agency Tass reported Tuesday.
The visitors, whose Arabian Peninsula country was ravaged by civil war earlier this year, are in Moscow to attend the 27th Soviet Communist Party Congress. Marxist South Yemen is one of Moscow’s most important allies in the Middle East.
