Killings Claim Lives of 2 Valley Men

Los Angeles police on Friday reported the fatal stabbing of a Canoga Park man and a separate shooting incident resulting in the death of a Woodland Hills man.
In Canoga Park, witnesses told police that Jose Alexander Moreira, 22, and his brother, Francisco Moreira, 26, were drinking with three others on the 8200 block of Canoga Avenue about 9:15 a.m. when a fight began.
Jose Moreira was stabbed and killed; his brother received a superficial knife wound. The three other men fled, police Detective Duane Burris said.
In the second incident, police arrested Theodore Keleman, 18, of Woodland Hills on suspicion of murder in the shooting death of Colin Brooks, also 18 and of Woodland Hills, Burris said.
Police were notified of the shooting about 4 p.m., Burris said.
