Visiting Vice President George Bush and Assistant Secretary of State Richard W. Murphy met with Tunisian President Habib Bourguiba in a bid to improve U.S.-Tunisian relations, strained when Israel bombed the headquarters of the Palestine Liberation Organization outside Tunis last fall. Bush said he was convinced that U.S.-Tunisian relations are “extremely solid.”
