San Diego Home Sales on Rise

Sales of new housing in San Diego County took an upward turn in January, according to figures released by Insites, the residential housing survey.
Mervyn L. Morris, senior vice president and manager of Founders Title Co., sponsor of the survey, said that detached housing provides the hottest market for builders. In December, total sales were 780. Of these, 445 were detached homes and 335 were attached. In January, total sales were 1,008, with 662 detached and 346 attached.
The overall median price for homes in December was $ll9,931 while in January the median was $120,813. In December the median for detached homes was $132,448 and attached was $100,250. In January the median for detached was $131,290 and for attached $105,441.
