2-Year-Old Boy Survives 15 Minutes Beneath Ice

PORT BYRON, Ill. — A 2-year-old boy who nearly drowned while trapped beneath the ice of a frozen creek for 15 minutes was breathing on his own Wednesday, hospital officials said.
Rory Remour was walking Sunday with his 6-year-old sister on an ice-covered creek near his home when the ice gave way. His father chopped through the ice with an ax and pulled him out of the water.
