Lee J. Guittar, president of USA Today since 1984, was named group vice president of the newspaper division at Hearst Corp. In that position, Guittar will supervise the Los Angeles Herald Examiner and Hearst’s other newspapers. Before joining USA Today, Guittar was publisher of the Dallas Times Herald and the Denver Post.
USA Today said Thomas Curley, executive vice president and general manager of the paper, will succeed Guittar as president, heading circulation and promotion.
