Lebanon Peace Plan Offered

BEIRUT — A reported Christian proposal to end Lebanon’s civil war surfaced today as new fighting broke out in Beirut and in southern Lebanon, killing at least six people and wounding 17 others.
The leftist daily As Safir said Christian leaders suggested the posts of president, prime minister and speaker of Parliament rotate between Christians and Muslims every four years. Parliamentary seats would be increased from 99 to 108 and distributed equally between Muslims and Christians, the paper said.
