The newly merged Lorimar-Telepictures Corp., Culver City, on Wednesday announced the division of activities between Lorimar chief Lee Rich and David Salzman, production head at Telepictures.
Rich, as president of the newly created Lorimar-Telepictures Entertainent, will be in charge of all of the company’s television, cable and theatrical-release motion picture activities. Salzman, who is currently in charge of the first-run television and broadcast groups, will add network television development and production to his other duties.
The moves seek to “not only unify the creative areas of our new company but also permit Lee to concentrate on creative matters during the most active production and development period ever experienced by either company without leaving a gap in the television area,” Merv Adelson, Lorimar-Telepictures chairman and chief executive, said in a statement.
