Two San Gabriel Valley standouts have been named to their respective conference first teams.
Mt. San Antonio College, which finished with a 21-11 record and reached the third round of the state basketball playoffs, placed freshman center James Jones on the first team All-South Coast Conference squad and Citrus, which finished with a 10-20 mark and missed the playoffs, landed freshman forward Rob Arnett on the All-Inland Valley Conference first team.
Jones, a 6-9, 220-pounder from Cincinnati, averaged 17.3 points to lead the Mounties in scoring and was second in rebounding at 6.2 a game. He made 61% of his field-goal attempts during the regular season.
Arnett, a 6-5 former Damien High standout, averaged 18.8 points and 7.3 rebounds to lead his team in both categories.
