Fluor Corp. said it will install a steam power plant at the Unocal Corp. refinery in San Francisco. Fluor said the plant will consist of three gas turbine generators that will produce 49.8 megawatts of electrical power, enough to supply all of the refinery’s electrical and steam needs. As part of the contract, Fluor said it also will rebuild the refinery’s electrical system.

Terms of the contract were not disclosed, but Irvine-based Fluor--an engineering and construction company with interests in natural resources management--said the work is expected to be completed early next year.
