Chapman Sweeps Portland in Softball

Casey Tacason and Sally Meyer led Chapman College to a nonconference softball doubleheader sweep of Portland State Saturday at Sacramento State.
The Panthers won the first game, 3-2, when Meyers singled in Tacason with the winning run in the eighth inning.
Chapman (23-10) won the second game, 4-2, as Tacason (13-4) pitched a complete game. Meyer drove in Maggie Schubert in the fourth inning to put Chapman ahead, 3-2. Tacason had a solo home run in the third inning.
The Panthers are ranked sixth in Division II softball.
