Saying that they want to determine which gubernatorial hopeful is the “candidate of the rich,” campaign aides to Gov. George Deukmejian called on Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley to release his 1985 income tax returns. A Bradley assistant replied that the mayor released a summary of his returns during his unsuccessful 1982 gubernatorial campaign against Deukmejian and is considering the release of last year’s returns during the current campaign. Returns released by Deukmejian on Monday showed he paid $20,086 in taxes last year on income of $70,174.
