451 Jailed in Chile Unrest

SANTIAGO, Chile — With troops in combat gear on guard outside, riot police stormed two buildings on Chilean university campuses Thursday and arrested 451 students, witnesses and police said. Most were later released. It was the third straight day of clashes between security forces and groups of opposition students protesting President Augusto Pinochet’s military government.
