Bomed Medical Blames Research Spending for Loss

Blaming continued high research spending, Bomed Medical Manufacturing Ltd. on Monday said it posted a net loss of $207,780 during the first quarter compared to a net loss of $139,320 during the first quarter of 1985. Revenues for the quarter fell 9% to $151,370 from $166,090 a year ago.
The Irvine maker of instruments for monitoring heart and circulatory systems also announced the election of Charles W.P. Kamanski to its board of directors at its April 22 meeting. At the same time, Bomed said, D.P. Strohm and P.P. Tong resigned from the board.
