Actor Mike Connors, who starred in television’s “Tightrope” and “Mannix,” has been appointed to a two-year term on the state Motion Picture Council along with veteran film editor Jeanene Ambler. Connors, 60, will represent motion picture artists, while Ambler, 51, will represent craft workers. Both are Republicans. Appointed by Gov. George Deukmejian, council members serve without pay but receive expenses.
