Sheriff’s deputies on Monday were trying to identify a possibly autistic boy found abandoned in a wheelchair in front of a home for mentally disabled adults in Saugus, authorities said.
The boy was described as 8 to 10 years old, white or possibly Latino, with brown hair and eyes, wearing a long-sleeved black, red and yellow shirt and yellow pants.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Detective Dennis Carroll said the boy has been unable to communicate verbally.
He was found in front of Trumbo’s Welcome Home in the 15500 block of the Sierra Highway about 5:30 p.m. Sunday. The child was taken to MacLaren Children’s Center in El Monte.
